Did Rove's Comments Disrespect Liberal Troops and Vets?

I didn't jump on the bandwagon with the Rove remarks but I did watch the Senate Armed Forces Committee Report on C-Span. Made notes on the questions the esteemed Senators asked of Rumsfeld and the Generals. See at my blog; Dying to Preserve the Lies (
http://dyingwarriors.blogspot.com/)
After each Senator carefully went on record with their absolute support for the troops and their families sacrifices, honor, and the excellent jobs they are doing, each Senator then carefully phrased his or her questions about the status of the troops and war in Iraq. Ahh, such care to tip toe around sounding other than anything respectful about our troops in combat.
So Karl Rove comments, I could construe as a military family with 2 loved ones, Iraq veterans, as having been most disrespectful of the 'liberal' soldier in uniform. If my two felt the call of 911 and in part felt the sense of patriotic duty to don the uniform and they happen to be liberal; hmmmm.
If my Viet veteran husband, who happens to be liberal served and did his patriotic duty, I think that Rove's representation just crossed some sacred line that has kept the dissenting voice in check these past 2 years. You know the whole 'support the troops' thing and don't disrespect the troops and are you saying (fill in the blank) and that is not supporting the troops and how dare you not support the troops.
Well, as military family here, with our 2 loved ones having already served in Iraq, extended 15 month tours; both under orders and Stop Lossed for 2nd deployments to Iraq in next few months, I think I can be offended. Maybe even outraged that someone who represents this Administration has spoken words that undermine the confidence of the troops in the war in Iraq and on terrorism.
Please, Mr Rove, suggest then to the President in one of those moments when you are guiding him through this 'hard work' that he bring home every 'liberal' soldier in uniform and replace with a non-liberal, conservative soldier. Please, Mr Rove, when the President is thinking Every Day about Iraq and the troops fighting there, suggest he could do better job by pulling out the 'liberal' soldiers in uniform and putting in the non-liberal, conservative soldiers. Surely those on the non-liberal, conservative side of things are lining up rapidly for military recruitment, ready, willing and able to serve in the war on terrorism.
I'm using sarcasm, and haven't reached a point of actual outrage over the Rove comments because I've been outraged now for 2 + years over the deadly policies of this administration. But perhaps military families, troops and vets could be outraged that Rove has so disrespected the service and sacrifice of thos who are of 'liberal' leanings?
Citing Karl Rove's comments from NY Times article
"Conservatives saw the savagery of 9/11 in the attacks and prepared for war; liberals saw the savagery of the 9/11 attacks and wanted to prepare indictments and offer therapy and understanding for our attackers," Mr. Rove, the senior political adviser to President Bush, said at a fund-raiser in Midtown for the Conservative Party of New York State.
Citing calls by progressive groups to respond carefully to the attacks, Mr. Rove said to the applause of several hundred audience members, "I don't know about you, but moderation and restraint is not what I felt when I watched the twin towers crumble to the ground, a side of the Pentagon destroyed, and almost 3,000 of our fellow citizens perish in flames and rubble."
